Gilding the Lily since 2006
Yesterday I made a few pints of Eastern European-style quince preserves called slatko or varenye (slatko od dunja, варенье из айвы). Look at that color! It’s a very simple recipe: just quince, sugar, water, and lemon, with a little finely minced dried cranberries for added texture. It’s traditionally offered to guests with a spoon and a glass of water, but I’ll use this tender and tart-sweet slatko like chutney. #makestuff 🍐 🍋 🍐 🍋#quinces #chutney #slatko #varenye #варенье #russianfood #preserves #putuporshutup #canning #instayum #instafood #food52 #foodgawker #foodstagram #thekitchn #huffposttaste A post shared by Heather Arndt Anderson (@heatherarndtanderson) on Nov 25, 2017 at 10:01am PST
