Made easy/lazy choucroute garnis tonight with *gasp* store-bought sauerkraut that I doctored up with diced @nueskes ham, caraway seeds, juniper berries, and a spoonful of my homemade dill pickle mustard (protip: purée the garlicky, seedy dregs of your jars of pickles instead of dumping them). Then I nestled in succulent Nicky Farms caraway-dill wild boar-pork sausages and ignored the whole thing in the oven for an hour while I tended to more pressing matters (read: doing my nails and having a glass of wine). Served with salt-roasted potatoes and warm rolls, it’s such a satisfying winter meal.
